This is the best thing I have bought for my kitchen in a long time. It heats up really quickly, cooks chips to perfection and was cheap - what more could you ask?????

Basically does what it says on the tin, but is hard to clean, slow, not great at filtering out smells and, worst of all, has now given up the ghost after less than 2 years (lid will not stay shut).

Takes ages to get to temperature. Basket handle is very fiddly to manipulate. Lid won't stay down, so can only be used with a weight of some kind on top. Doesn't filter out odours either - no different to frying in an open pan. Temperature dial flimsy. Accumulates a lot of condensation on the lid so when lifted this drips into the hot oil and spits! Okay for those who enjoy extreme frying, I suppose.
Scary July 6, 2008 Morton (Twickenham, UK) I agree with Tyke. This is one for the extreme fryers - a scary contraption. Steam seeps out the sides (cool wall seems non-existent), you can't see through the window and so have to open up the fryer, but when you do, all the condensation from inside the lid drips straight into the hot oil, which crackles and pops alarmingly, spitting out at you. I haven't been hurt yet, but I'm jacking this one in before I am. Let this warn you. I've had enough of this one and am now looking for a replacement.
