4 out of 5 stars Good but not A1   October 15, 2009

I like this fryer a great deal. It looks good, can cook plenty of chips (that's all I use it for), heats up nice and hot and cooks my chips really well. My only gripe is the basket; the way it goes up and down, although it works well I just feel that one day in the future it might fail as they are trying to be too flashy with the mechanism, trying to re-invent the wheel when a more traditional design would work just as well.
Despite this, I believe it is definitely the best of the plastic variety of fryers and better than some of the low end "professional" metal type.

1 out of 5 stars Don't Buy it!   June 11, 2009

Heavy, unattractive, if you you put homemade chips in without drying every drop of moisture off them it will overflow. I have used this item about four times, and it takes ages to get the chips in without flooding over the top. Have binned it after the wife used it and flooded hot oil everywhere. (My fault should have warned her).
Hard to clean once oil is in the inside as it cannot be immersed in water.
